Fort Myers Tile and Grout Cleaners Turned This Shower around to Give It a Fresh, New Look
February 06, 2017
A Southwest Florida resident had had it with his shower, the tiles looked grimy and the floor was an utter mess, with blackish-brown stains all over it. He didn't understand how it became so dirty and even though he had hired cleaning service after cleaning service, none of them seemed to be able to get rid of all the grime the shower had accumulated with time. He was on the brink of doing a full renovation, but after talking about this situation with some friends, they recommended Sir Grout SW Florida's Fort Myers tile and grout cleaners who had cleaned their home's kitchen floors and had left them spotless. They told him he could go to our website and see the kind of work we did, and even request a free evaluation and quote. And so he did.On the day of the evaluation, we explained that the main problems were soap scum and mold and mildew buildup and that the best way to get rid of that and prevent it from happening again was with a deep tile and grout cleaning followed by a sealing job. He was happy with our assessment and with the cost associated with it so we set a date to do the job.
On the date set, we started by using our own special Sir Grout tile and grout cleaner to remove all the dirt stuck to the tiles and grout. We used a high-speed gentle scrubbing machine to remove grime from stubborn places. After that was done, we checked for any damage in the grout lines, but there were none. Since no grout repairs were necessary, we proceeded to applied Stainmaster epoxy grout to ColorSeal the surfaces and make the grout lines' color look even and to give it that fresh, new feel. This product protects the grout from spills, stains and it is also mold and mildew resistant. Once that was done, we buffed on our proprietary tile and grout sealant, Tile Armor, over the entire shower. Tile Armor is nontoxic, water-based, and safe for families and pets.
Our client asked us how the shower had gotten to that terrible state if he frequently hired cleaners to tidy up the entire house; we explained that it could have been a combination of factors such as the use of the wrong cleaning products, which can damage grout and make it more porous and prone to being colonized by mold and mildew, and a poorly aired bathroom, which can create the perfect environment for mold and mildew to thrive. We explained that the products we applied would help prevent such a thing from happening again, but that he should instruct his cleaners to use pH-neutral, soap-less products on all tile and grout surfaces, and to never let the product or water used to remove it, to airdry; on the contrary, all tile floors should have all the extra cleaner, -or water used to remove the excess cleaner- removed with a dry terry-cloth or mop. Additionally, we recommended that he tried to keep the bathroom properly ventilated, to prevent stagnant water from fostering the growth of fungi.
The client was so happy with the work we did and the advice we offered that he told us he would recommend Sir Grout SW Florida to friends and family. He was on the brink of paying for a full renovation, and was able to get the shower he wanted for a fraction of the price!
